I think you misunderstood the meaning of the word "bemused." It does not refer to amusement or pleasure, but rather confusion. Below is the definition in full from the American Heritage Dictionary:
be·muse (bĭ-myōōz')
tr.v. be·mused, be·mus·ing, be·mus·es
1. To cause to be bewildered; confuse. See Synonyms at daze.
2. To cause to be engrossed in thought.
be·mus'ed·ly (-myōō'zĭd-lē) adv., be·muse'ment n.

I know someone already said this but I had to post this so my inner grammar nazi would shut up.
Also, I think they should only read quotes with an accent- they are funny but only in short little doses.
